Background

Mr. Linnihan has focused his legal practice on workers’ compensation defense for more than thirty five years in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has been a partner in tow other insurance defense law firms in the past and now is excited to join the Heacox-Hartman Firm as a shareholder to add his experience and expertise to those skills of his new colleagues. He has an AV Pre-eminent peer review rating in the distinguished legal directory of Martindale-Hubbell. With the extreme complexity of the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation system, limiting his practice to this highly specialized field of law has allowed Tom to provide the most competent and effective legal services to his clients during his career. In addition to representing numerous insurance companies, Tom has defended major self-insured employers in workers’ compensation matters throughout his career. In that capacity, he has advised and defended several employers in hundreds of occupational disease cases over the years, developing a special interest and expertise in that distinctive area of law. Tom often serves as spokesperson on behalf of the Employers and Insurers at settlement conferences in multi-party occupational disease cases because of his knowledge and expertise in the specialized area of workers’ compensation law. Tom has been married to his wife Mary for thirty five years and has three grown children.
